We are a body of believers united in Christ to proclaim, live, love and serve according to God’s Word.

God calls us to be an inviting church, extending a welcome to all who will open their hearts to the worship and teachings of Jesus Christ. We are also called to come together faithfully in worship and fellowship. As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, we desire to grow in our faith and use our spiritual gifts to minister in our church, our community and throughout the world.

We operate under the traditional Baptist structure with a Council of Deacons, a Board of Trustees, a Board of Missions, and a Board of Christian Education. In addition there are several committees for the various other ministries of the church. A deacon serves on each board and committee.

Although erected in 1800 as the First Meeting House in the village, the church was officially founded as First Baptist Church of Hoosick Falls in 1847. The original church cemetery still remains on the property; we have a long and very rich history.

Pastor Hector began his pastorate at First Baptist Hoosick Falls in September of 2023. He was born in Honduras and came to the United States at a very young age. Growing up in northeastern Pa. he attended East Stroudsburg University and became involved with campus and local church ministries. After graduating he remained in East Stroudsburg where he became a Health and Physical Education Teacher.

While teaching Hector remained heavily involved with his church’s youth ministry, leading a drama ministry and several outreach ministries. Yet after much prayer and encouragement from trusted mentors, he felt called to fulltime ministry and enrolled in seminary. While at Alliance Theological Seminary, he met his beautiful wife, Lydia. He has a passion for helping people to connect with Jesus; relaxes through music, exercise and video games; and including his love for Lydia he loves pizza, the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Eagles and Real Madrid FC.

Lydia was born in Boston and has lived in various places around the world, including the Philippines, Tennessee, Egypt and Rockland county NY where she lived most of her life. She has her M. Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. Lydia has a love for Jesus, cooking, exercise and animals (especially her pets)

Upon getting married, Hector and Lydia spent three years in Queens, NY, where Hector was a Youth Director. They moved to a church near the Jersey Shore and have served in various capacities for the last ten years. They are looking forward to seeing God’s plan unfold for the future as they both serve as pastors in Rensselaer county.
